Are you a grandparent who is being unfairly denied visitation with your grandchildren? Are the parents of your grandchild no longer living together? In some circumstances, our attorneys may be able to help you to obtain and exercise your right to see your grandchild!
In cases where the parents of your grandchild no longer live together with the child, Georgia law now allows a court to grant “reasonable visitation rights” to grandparents, provided the court finds that the health or welfare of the child would be harmed without the visitation and that the best interests of the child would be served by the court ordering the visitation. This appears to be a high standard, but we would encourage you to meet with our child custody and visitation lawyers, if you are being denied an opportunity to visit with your grandchildren.
